ABOUT
From a young age, Owen displayed a profound passion for music. Even as a child, he gravitated towards the captivating sounds of musical instruments, attentively listening and striving to recreate their melodies on the keyboard by ear.Â
Owen's musical exploration began with the Trombone, and was shortly followed by self-teaching the Bass Guitar. Enamored with the various sounds of modern music, Owen taught himself the Drums, Guitar, and Piano, while continuing to involve himself in different musical ventures including Rock Groups, Jazz Band, Drumline, Wind Ensemble.
Throughout his educational term at Davidson College, his fervor for music intensified, eventually revealing itself as his true calling. Over the course of four years, he immersed himself in the study of music theory, composition, history, and production, all while actively performing both on and off campus. Owen served as the Drummer in the College Jazz Ensemble, the Bassist in the Jazz Combo, the Lead Guitarist in several student-led bands, the in-house Pianist at a church in Charlotte, NC, and played locally in the Mecklenberg County area both as a solo musician, and as a side-man in a number of groups. The opportunities to play a diversity of styles, events, and with different groups solidified his multifaceted talents, and continually refined his craft.
After graduating from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Music, Owen wholeheartedly embraced his musical calling. He dedicates his free time to practice, composition, production, and live performances, drawing inspiration from his daily life. He finds profound joy in sharing his passion with others and expressing his inner thoughts through sound. From venues large to small, and audiences young and old, his performances are a testament to the transformative power of music.
Owen's musical style is a unique blend of theory, openness, and improvisation, allowing him to excel in a wide array of genres, including Jazz, Funk, Classical, Rock, and Blues. Owen's music is a testament to his unwavering dedication, lifelong growth, and profound love for the language of sound. His journey, from a young enthusiast to a seasoned musician, continues to unfold, promising an ever-evolving tapestry of melodies and harmonies for the audiences to savor.
